Account Management
As a users with access to the PoolParty UI, you can log in, display and update your user profile and change your password.
All PoolParty users created with the PoolParty User Management must activate their user account before they can use it.
Activate or Reactivate Your User Account
You need to activate your PoolParty account when you want to use it for the first time. You need to reactivate it each time your password is reset.
You need to activate your user account if it has been created with the PoolParty User Management and you want to use it for the first time. You need to reactivate your user account if the PoolPartySuperAdmin who manages your account has reset your password and you want to use it for the first time since the password reset.
In both cases, your PoolPartySuperAdmin provides you with your username and a one-time password, which you will be asked to change when you successfully authenticate.
Note
If your user account is managed by a third-party identity provider, you do not need to activate it.
All PoolParty users created with the PoolParty User Management, including the users who cannot log in to PoolParty (WikiEditor, ApiUser and ApiAdmin), must activate their account before they can use it. For more information on the individual user roles, refer to User Roles in PoolParty.
This procedure will be different if an alternative authentication flow has been configured. For more information on the individual steps, refer to your administrator.
Go to servername/PoolParty/ to access PoolParty.
You are redirected to the PoolParty login page provided by Keycloak.

PoolParty relies on Keycloak for user authentication. For more information, see PoolParty Federated User Management.
If enabled, select the language for the login page.
Enter your username and one-time password.
Confirm with LOGIN.
Enter your new password and re-type it.
Note
Your password must meet the minimal password requirements defined by your organization. If no custom password policy has been defined, your password must be at least 8 characters long. For more information, refer to Configure PoolParty to Use Stronger Passwords.
Confirm with Submit.
If you are a PoolParty user with access to the PoolParty UI, you are logged in to PoolParty. If you are a WikiEditor, ApiUser or ApiAdmin, you get an Access Denied message (see below). In either case you have successfully activated your account and can use it with the password you have set.

This procedure describes how to log in to PoolParty if your user account has been created with the PoolParty User Management and you have already activated it.
Note
The login procedure will be different if your user account is managed by a third-party identity provider (IDP).

Go to servername/PoolParty/ to access PoolParty.

If enabled, select the language for the login page.
Enter your username and password.
Tip
If you have forgotten your password, you can ask your administrator to reset it. After your password has been reset, you need to reactivate your account. For more information, see Activate or Reactivate Your User Account.
You do not have this option if your user account is managed by a third-party IDP.
Confirm with LOGIN.
Access to User Settings for PoolParty Users
Access to User Settings for PoolParty Users
All users with access to the PoolParty UI can view and update their own profile. The user profile includes user details, language settings, authorization and display settings. For more information, see User Profile.
Open the User Management using the icon in the toolbar.
Tip
Alternatively, you can go to the User menu in the top right-hand corner and select Settings.
The User Management opens with your node activated by default.
Update your Profile.
For a detailed account of the individual settings and information, see User Profile.
Note
If your user account is managed by a third-party identity provider (IDP), your full name, email, role and groups might get overwritten by the information coming from the IDP.
Only users in the PoolPartySuperAdmin role can change their role and groups. For more information on the PoolPartySuperAdmin role, see User Roles in PoolParty.
Click Update profile.
The Update profile confirmation message opens.
Confirm your edits with Update and log out.
You are automatically logged out for the changes to take effect.
Change Your Password
All users with access to the application UI can change their PoolParty password. See our detailed documentation to find out more.
All users with access to the PoolParty UI can change their password.
Note
You cannot change your password if your user is managed by a third-party identity provider (IDP).
Open the User Management using the icon in the toolbar.
Select Change Password.
The Change Password page provided by Keycloak opens.

If enabled, select the language for the Change Password page.
Type in your current and new password.
Note

Confirm with Save.

To return to the previous page, click Back in the page header.
