PoolParty Multi-Tier Environments
PoolParty offers two types of licenses, production and non-production licenses:
production licenses are used in a productive environment where PoolParty is intended to create business value; typical use cases include but are not limited to creating, refining, reviewing, hosting and publishing of taxonomies, ontologies and knowledge graphs, as well as creating, maintaining and running of data engineering processes, setting up and operating redundant standby or failover systems.
non-production licenses are used for activities not involving any modifications to a knowledge graph or taxonomy, or any other tasks with the intention of creating business value; such are for instance developing integration with other systems, or functional, performance, integration, system testing as well as testing of data engineering processes.
Determining the right environment for operating the PoolParty solution involves consideration of aspects such as availability, performance, specific corporate governance, and staging.
We will subsequently outline some typical tier configurations along with their advantages and disadvantages. We will of course assist you in determining your best fitting environment with the right balance between the price and performance.
