Create a New User

This section contains a short guide on how to create a new user in PoolParty.

How to Create a New User

To create a new user, follow these steps:

  1. Open the User Administration using the icon in the toolbar.

  2. Click on the Users node.

  3. Press the Create User button.

  4. The Create User dialogue opens. Enter the User Details. For more details on the User Details, Role and Groups sections, see below.

  5. Click Save.

The Advanced tab (6) of the Create User dialogue lets you modify the URI that is created for the user.

User Details Section

The User Details section includes the following:

  • Username (mandatory field). The Username cannot be changed, once the user has been created.

  • Full Name(optional)

  • Password. The password has to be at least eight letters long. Find more details on passwords, here: Configure PoolParty to Use Stronger Passwords.

Role section

Select one role that grants permission. Find more details on user roles, here: User Roles in PoolParty.

Groups section

Select every group that the user should be a member of. Find more details on user groups, here: User Groups in PoolParty.

Note

The User Administration is only available in the PoolPartySuperAdmin role.

You can also use the API method Create a New User to create new users.
