UnifiedViews - Recommended Backup Strategy
UnifiedViews - Recommended Backup Strategy
This section contains a short guide on how to backup the data of your UnifiedViews instance.
UnfiedViews after installation will be situated in the following default directories, depending on the operating system.
Installation details find in these topics:
UnifiedViews Required Backup Directories
If you use the default path during installation, you find the data and repositories in these paths:
Linux: /opt/unifiedviews/unifiedviews/configdata/server/repositories
Windows: C:\uvdata\configdata\server\repositories
UnifiedViews Additional Backup Directories
Pipeline Debug Data
We strongly recommend to also back up the pipeline debug data, located by default here:
Linux: /opt/unifiedviews/unifiedviews/backend/working
Windows: C:\uvdata\data
UnifiedViews Input and Output Data
UnifiedViews input and output data should also be backed up and per default during installation are created here:
Linux: /opt/unifiedviews/unifiedviews/data
Windows: C:\uvdata\data
Note
Depending on the configuration you choose for your UnifiedViews instance, during pipeline development, users could specify any readable or writable directories on the server. Make sure to include all of those in your backup.
Due to the nature of such data, backups can be large, so consider disk capacity when planning backups.
Backup Strategy
Note
We strongly recommend to regularly back up UnifiedViews pipelines and DPU configuration data. Especially, since PoolParty UnfiedViews, differing in this respect from PoolParty Thesaurus Server, does not automatically create system snaphshots.
Best Practice
You should set up a backup pipeline for the Required directories mentioned above.
To make the backup complete, also include the Additional directories listed.
The backup solutions you use also depend on your infrastructure and individual requirements, as usual.
Note
We recommend setting up a dedicated backup pipeline that will be executed on a regular schedule.
