Connect Library or List

Users can connect PoolParty to SharePoint library through a helpful wizard. This article provides info on how to make a successful connection.

The wizard in the Connect content section allows you to connect indivdual SharePoint libraries and lists to PoolParty taxonomies, to specify which fields of the document library or list get tagged and to set tagging parameters.

  1. On the page where PoolParty for SharePoint Administration has been installed, select Connect content.

The PoolParty for SharePoint wizard opens.

  2. On the Select site page:

    1. Select the site containing the document library or list with the items you want to auto-tag.

Make sure that a tenant administrator gives PoolParty for SharePoint write permissions over that site. For more information, refer to Configure Site Permissions.

    2. Confirm with Next.

  3. On the Select document library or list page:

    1. Select the document library or list with the items you want to auto-tag.

    2. Confirm with Next.

  4. On the Select fields page:

    1. Select the fields of the document library or list with the content you want to auto-tag.

The body of the documents in document libraries will always get auto-tagged.

    2. Confirm with Next.

  5. On the Select a taxonomy page:

    1. Select the PoolParty taxonomy (project) that will be used to auto-tag the content.

Currently, it is possible to select only one taxonomy to tag a certain library or list.

    2. Select the language in which the content is written. The language is available only if it is covered by the selected taxonomy.

    3. Type in a name for the new field that will be added to the document library or list and will contain tags.

    4. Confirm with Next.

  6. On the Set tagging parameters page:

    1. Select the Enable automatic auto-tagging checkbox if you want PoolParty for SharePoint to automatically auto-tag items you add into your document library or list at a later time. Items that are there at the moment will not get automatically auto-tagged.

If you don't select this option, you can manually trigger the auto-tagging for the new items from the Connection settings section. For more information, refer to Edit Tagging Parameters.

    2. Specify the minimum tag score. The higher the score, the less tags you will get but they will be more relevant.

    3. Specify the maximum number of tags that will be shown per item.

    4. Confirm with Connect to taxonomy.

The content has been successfully connected. If you want to start the auto-tagging, select Go to library or list. For more information, refer to Trigger Auto-tagging.
